Imagine that…on your birthday you post to your blog apologizing for not posting on your birthday. Then you follow-up with an offer to give gifts instead of asking for them…

Well, that really is the kind of guy Jeff De Cagna is, at least based on my conversations with him and reading his blog for a while now. He is really a genuinely nice guy and a voice of reason and innovation in the Association world. Jeff, I really hope you enjoyed your birthday (regardless of how many years old/young you are)! While few have come out publicly and said it, I wanted to be the first to wish you a happy birthday and give you some cake via my blog.

Thanks for doing what you do…and working so hard to keep Association Executives moving, thinking and improving. Hope you are recovering from your jet lag. From firsthand experience I know just how tough it can be.

Amazing, I just found out about another pretty interesting development from our friends at Google. I’d like to introduce you to Gmail Paper. Simply put, it is a print-on-demand and delivery service that combines the power of your Gmail account with offsite printing and delivery to wherever you are and whenever you want it.

In their own words it is as simple as: “You Click, We Stack, You Get.”

There is not limit to the amount you can print although the service still doesn’t handle .mp3 and .wav files (Perhaps a future enhancement). And to top it all off, Gmail Paper environmentally friendly as well as it uses “96% post-consumer organic soybean sputum, and thus, actually helps the environment.”

I have to give it up to the folks at Google. They are really putting out some quality products in this April 1st release window. I can’t wait to see what will they will release next.

The great minds at Google have once again stepped up with bleeding-edge technology that not only reduces consumer dependency on commercial ISP’s but also leverages the power of everyday things.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., April 1, 2007 - Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG) today announced the launch of Google TiSP (BETA)™, a free in-home wireless broadband service that delivers online connectivity via users’ plumbing systems. The Toilet Internet Service Provider (TiSP) project is a self-installed, ad-supported online service that will be offered entirely free to any consumer with a WiFi-capable PC and a toilet connected to a local municipal sewage system.

Currently in BETA, the system also boasts 10X higher flow rate than commercial DSL, and a convenient Google Toolbar-based analysis of your dietary habits and genetic predispositions, along with recommendations for healthier living. The graphic below illustrates how the system works.
