Coordinate Meeting Times Anywhere in the World with World Clock Meeting Planner

May 27, 2007

It’s hard enough to schedule meetings with folks in your own office let alone on the other side of the world. Now that I am managing a virtual project team that literally spans the globe I need any advantage I can get to facilitate meetings and conference calls.

One tool that I have found invaluable is the World Clock Meeting Planner for the fine folks at time and date.com. To get up and running simply pick your home location and any other locations where your team members may be. The results are provided in a handy and easy to use reference table. There may be other online tools out there that do the same thing, but for my purposes I can’t find one that is more simple or easier to use.

Welcome back Dave! This sounds like a great tool that can be used in conjunction with Meeting Wizard (www.meetingwizard.com), which simplifies the actual scheduling of conference calls.

Thanks for the tip, Dave. Got any other time-saving tools you use to work with volunteers in far-flung places?

    Jeff,

Thanks for the warm welcome back! Nothing like getting away and experiencing something totally new (this was my first trip to Europe) to gain a fresh perspective on your association, volunteers and job as a whole.

I was unaware of Meeting Wizard, but it does look like it can facilitate the planning and scheduling of calls! I will definitely give it a try and see how it works out.

    Ben,

Great question! I will have to really take a look at my day-to-day process to see what I use to make working with my volunteers easier. I know I use a lot of tools, but as with anything used regularly or with frequency you tend to take them for granted. Definitely good material for a future post / series of posts.
